GEISAI#18 wrap up report & GEISAI#19 applications now open!
2013年4月29日（月）、GEISAI#18が無事終了致しました。
GEISAI#18 was held on Monday April 29, 2013.
東京都立産業貿易センター台東館4階、5階 の2フロア開催でのGEISAI#18は、 225組のアーティスト、総来場者2,494名によって幕を閉じました。
会場へお越し下さいました皆様、及び出展者の皆様、どうも有り難うございました。
We had a total of 225 exhibitors and 2,494 visitors on the 4th/5th floors of Tokyo Industrial Center Taito-kan.

今回は、審査員として、『ねんどろいど』で有名なグッドスマイルカンパニーの安藝貴範さん、ストリートアートの第一線で活躍し、現在カイカイキキギャラリーでも個展を開催しているKAWSさん、そして、ワタリウム美術館のキュレイターとして日本のアートシーンに数々のインパクトを与えてきた和多利浩一さんといった豪華な3名の審査員の方々を迎え、全225アーティストのブースを一つ一つ回って頂きました。
For this time, we had a prominent jury of Aki Takanori from Good Smile Company, the manufacturer of the famous Nendoroido figurine series; KAWS, an internationally known artist currently featured in solo show at Kaikai Kiki Gallery whose career began on the streets of NYC in 1990s and; Koich Watari, the curator of Watari-um Museum who has greatly influenced Japanese art scenes in many ways.
The three big names made personal appearances in the venue and stopped by each one of the 225 booths for evaluation.

また、今回はスペシャルブースにご出展頂いた方々も、会場の盛り上げにご協力頂きました。
GEISAI#16にて飯田高誉賞に輝いた旅団さんによる『秋葉原モンパルナス出張版』では、
GEISAI#11会田誠賞の川上秀行さんも加わりアーティスト・トークを展開。
出展者や来場者との憩いの広場、しゃべり場として交流して頂きました。
We also had support from the special booths exhibitors who brought additional excitement to the fair.
"Akihabara Montparnasse Business Trip Version" by Ryodan, the winner of Takayo Iida prize in GEISAI#16, featured an artists talk joined by Shugyo Kawakami who was awarded Makoto Aida prize in GEISAI#11. The talk was open to all exhibitors and visitors who wanted to enjoy talking with them.
また、GEISAI#17 PointRanking、その後のHidari Zingaroでの展覧会でも圧倒的な人気を誇った『妖怪イヌジマ』ブース。開場1時間前から待機列が出来、開催中もブースに人が溢れていました。
The author of "Supernatural Creature INUJIMA" was one of the top ranked exhibitors in GEISAI#17 Point Ranking, and the character enjoyed an overwhelming popularity in the subsequent show in Hidari Zingaro Gallery, too. Enthusiasts started to wait in line 1 hour before gates open, and the booth saw a constant stream of visitors throughout the day.
5F、ターナー様のライブペインティングブースでは、
Live Paint Dojo( http://lp-dojo.info/ )とのコラボレーションが実現。
主宰の山尾さんと相方MONさんとのユニット、DOPPEL( http://www.doppel.to/home.html )、イノウエジュンさん( http://juninoue.jp/ )、DRAGON76さん( http://www13.plala.or.jp/dragon-76/ )の４人によって、ライブペインティングが行われました。
さらに、ホルベイン工業様にもご協力頂き、缶バッチへのお絵描きコーナーも設けました。
お絵かきした缶バッチは持ち帰れるとあって、お客さんも張り切って思い思いの絵を描かれていました。
審査員のＫＡＷＳさんのスタジオスタッフの方々も、制作に熱中して楽しんで行かれました。
We also had support from Holbein Works Ltd. for a button badge painting workshop space.
Participants looked excited to paint on the badges to turn them into original artworks they were allowed to bring home.

受賞者発表を経て、審査員のトーク。制作者としてのアドバイス、アート作品を扱う側としての意見等、出展者にとって重要なトークが繰り広げられました。
The jury wrapped up the process after the winner announcement. The conversation included tips they would give from the creators' side as well as opinions from the marketers' side, and provided lots of insight to the exhibitors.
サプライズとして、急遽会場にいらっしゃっていた、オランダのギャラリストでありコレクターの、ニコデライブさんと、ニコさんにピックアップされた前回の受賞者、和田唯奈さんも登壇して、アドリブでのトークショーが展開しました。
Further excitement - a "happening" on stage conversation between gallerist/collector Nico Delaive from Netherlands and Yuina Wada, one of the prize winners in GEISAI#17 who was chosen by Mr. Delaive to be on stage with him.
