いよいよ開催迄3日となったGEISAI#18。

今回は、アートグループ3組が登壇し、グループで作品を発表する意味、個人とグループの関係性を焦点に、「何故アートグループなのか？」をテーマにした全体トークを中心に、GEISAI#18前々夜祭として催行致します。
シークレットゲストも登壇予定です。
また、参加グループの作品展示も4月21日より行われております。


For this time, we've invited three artists groups to discuss why theychose to work and publish in groups, and what is the relat ionship ofindividuals to the groups. We are expecting a secret guest, too.GEISAI#18 pre-eve party follows the discussion part.You can also come and see the works by the participating groups - theyhave been on display since April 21^st .

寺子屋とは江戸時代、庶民の子弟に FI$_=q$-!"7W;;$de$NCN
これからGEISAIに出す方も、過去に出した方も、この機会にいらしてみてはいかがでしょうか。

In the Edo Period, Terakoya were civilian education centers that instructed the common people in literacy, mathematics and other practical knowledge and skills.

It is said that their methods go all the way back to temple education
systems that existed in medieval Japan.


With "the pen and the abacus as their foundation," the instructions focused on the tools of daily life, including reading, calligraphy, geography,and formal letter writing skills.
Thanks to their efforts, the early Meiji period saw Japan develop one of the highest literacy rates in the world.


In this spirit, the GEISAI Terakoya will focus on instruction in art through lectures and discussion groups on each of the specialized fields at the heart of today's art world.
Our hope is that ti will become a place for participants to take their initial steps as artists.


We hope that both past and future GEISAI participants will choose to attend this s pecial occasion.
And we of course welcome everyone, pro or amateur. Please do stop by.


『GEISAI寺子屋』について
寺子屋とは江戸時代、庶民の子弟に読み書き、計算や実務上の知識・技能を教育した民間教育施設で、その起源は、中世の寺院での教育に遡ると言 われ ています。「読み書き算盤」と呼ばれる基礎的な読み方・習字・算数の習得に始まり、地理・書簡の作成法など、実生活に必要とされる知識や技術の教 育が行われ、明治初期における日本の識字率は世界最高水準にありました。このことからGEISAI寺子屋では芸術を生業としていく上で、基礎 的な 地固めを中心に各々の専門分野による講義や作家同士の意見交換により、芸術家の最初の一歩が踏み出せるような場となることを願って発足します。


これからGEISAIに出す方も、過去に出した方も、この機会にいらしてみてはいかがでしょうか。
勿論、プロの方も一般の方も大歓迎です。

こうさくてん / KOUSAKUTEN
「こうさくてん」とは、さまざまなジャンルのメンバーが一堂に会し、「こうさく」のバラエティーを遊ぶグループ展です。
展覧会名となっている平仮名で表記された「こうさく」には、ものを作るという意味での「工作（make）」の他に、
いろいろな人や表現スタイルが混じり合うという意味での「交錯（mix）」、そして、その関わりを通じて、
互いの領域を新たに耕していく機会を得ようという意味での「耕作（cultivate）」など多様な意味が盛り込まれており、
領域を問わない造形交流の輪を広げ、何よりも「こうさく」を遊んで楽しむことをモットーにしています。
そして、この「こうさくてん」が、やがて耕され小さな文化（culture）になれば、と、ひそかに願っている次第です。
KOUSAKUTEN is a group show in which artists from a variety of fields
playfully explore the theme of "Kousaku". Japanese word Kousaku has
multiple meanings from "fabrication"to "crisscross,"and
"cultivation."So the group dedicates itself to fabricating artworks in
the crisscrossing of people/styles, thus cultivating new areas of
artistic creativity for each party involved. KOUSAKUTEN is looking to
realize a cross-field communication between artists of many
backgrounds, while keeping the main focus on having fun within the
realm of Kousaku, in hopes that one day, the initiative will be
cultivated enough to form a small piece of culture.


アート・パーティー るくる / Art * Party RUKURU


2011年8月 高知県「沖の島アートプロジェクトvol.3」にて開催されたARG「るくる島黄金伝説」に導かれたアーティストを中心として緩やかに持続する共同体。

2012年2月
千人に菩薩メイクを施し撮影するワークショップ三十三間堂プロジェクトや絵画、CG作品などを制作する仏（ほとけ）の美術家 TETTA、仏教美術や漫画を拡張した現代美術としての萬画(yorozuga)を制作する画僧の川上秀行、絵画、立体、インスタレーション を通 して現代美術と仏教の接点を模索してきた美術家／真言宗僧侶の平林幸壽により、「仏教」と「現代美術」の直結を試みる「仏教*現代*美術」なユ ニット、S-va-ha（ソ-ワ-カ）結成。
2012年3月
読経と舞踏による3.11〜東日本大震災の一周忌の鎮魂パフォーマンス 「1st Aniversary Ceremony of 3.11」を宮城県大曲浜で実施。
2012年４月
「仏サロン」( 主催：CIVIC ART) にて、パフォーマンス「1st Aniversary Ceremony of 3.11」を元にした写真作品を展示。
2012年６月
首都直下型地震に備え、大地の神に祈りと舞踏を捧げるパフォーマンス「Ceremony for Calming The Earth」を東京都大田区で実施。
2012年８月
パフォーマンス「１st Aniversary Ceremony of 3.11」及び「Ceremony for Calming The Earth」を元にテキストを加え映像作品化し、YouTube上で公開。Twitter上でポスターイメージを定期配信する「S-va-ha webポスター」シリーズを開始。
2012年10月　
パフォーマンス、インスタレーション、DJによるイベント「ソ-ワ-カ presents妙音祭」を、黄金町スタジオ内、試聴室2で実施。
2013年3月
読経と舞踏による3.11〜東日本大震災の三回忌の鎮魂パフォーマン ス「2nd Aniversary Ceremony of 3.11」を福島県いわき市の海岸で実施。（映像作品化し、YouTubeで公開中）2012年　
「GEISAI寺子屋 vol.4」（ART CYD 3331 GEISAIギャラリー）にて、作品展示、パフォーマンス、トーク出演。

An artists group seeking a direct connection between contemporary art
and Buddhism. It was formed in February 2012, by TETTA, who produces CG artworks and runs a project in which she applies bodhisattva makeup on the faces of 1,000 people and takes photos of them, and Shugyo Kawakami, a monk/painter who expands the traditional Buddhist art/manga styles into contemporary "yorozuga" art, and Yukihisa Hirabayashi, an artist/monk who explores the connection between contemporary art and Buddhism through paintings, sculptures and installation works. In March 2012, they organized a sutra chant/dance performance "1st Anniversary Ceremony of 3.11" as a requiem for the victims, in Omagarihama, Miyagi prefecture. Photo works from the performance were later exhibited at "Hotoke Salon(produced by Civic Art)" in April. In June 2012, they organized another performance "Ceremony for Calming The Earth" in Ota-ku, Tokyo. In this performance, they prayed and danced to the god of earth in the capital city that experts fear could be hit by a big earthquake in the not too distant future. In August 2012, the video works from these performances were released on YouTube with some texts, and a new
project called "S-va-ha web posters" was launched on Twitter – that
released original poster images regularly. In October 2012, "S-va-ha
Presents Myoonsai" including performance, installation and DJ music
was performed in Kogane Studio in Koganecho, Yokohama. In March 20 13,
"2nd Anniversary Ceremony of 3.11" was performed on the seashore of
Iwaki-city, Fukushima(Video piece available on YouTube). For GEISAI
Terakoya Vol.4, they are exhibiting their works, presenting a talk and
performance.

A graduate of Tama Art University, Kawakami practiced S$(D+'dhan$(D+' at Sohonzan Chisaku-in Temple.
Believing manga to be a medium capable of expressing all the facets of life,
he employs its unique capacity to 'design' words and images within temporal frames by creating
his own 'manga' in the form of installations and performances involving religi ous paintings and performances
of buddhist chants. He is active as a member of the groups S-va-ha and M3(Macro Mantra Matirx).
